Flame photometry
Model 420 – Dual Channel Flame Photometer
The manufacturer: Sherwood Scientific Ltd., UK
- Recomended method of HKMB for determination of electrolytes
- The determination of Sodium, Potassium and Lithium in serum, urine and plasma
|
Measured ranges |
CV |
Serum |
Na: 100.0 – 199.9 mmol/L |
0.5% (diluted 1 in 200) |
|
K: 1.00 - 9.99 mmol/L |
1.0% (diluted 1 in 200) |
|
Li: 1.00 - 5.00 mmol/L |
1.5% (diluted 1 in 50) |
Urine |
Na: 100.0 – 199.0 mmol/L |
1.0% (diluted 1 in 5 prior to 1 in 200) |
|
K: 40.0 - 120.0 mmol/L |
0.5% (diluted 1 in 5 prior to 1 in 200) |
- The linearity of Na and K is +/- 2 % over all measuring range
- Minimum Sample volume:
Manual dilution: 30 – 60 µL
Dilutor dilution: 60 – 120 µL
Autosampler: 0.5 – 1.8 mL
- Throughput: ~ 60 samples per hour
- Automatic ignition and optimisation of the flame conditions (Propane or Butane only)
- Optional automatic sample dilution using continuous flow Diluter
- Sample dilution for the measurement of Na/K 1:200
- Razrjeđenje uzorka za mjerenje Li 1:50
- Throughput for Autosampler: ~ 60 samples per hour
- Precision and accuracy of the measurement are much improved by the use of a Lithium Internal Standard which compensates for fluctuation in flame conditions and dilution errors (when continuous flow diluter used).
- The possibility of data transfer and storage to the computer over RS-232.
